Collage
Continue to work on your collage while I'm away.  If you have any questions please feel free to email me, even during class, and I will try to respond as quickly as possible.  The collage will be due on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.  If you finish the collage before the due date, save it and begin working on your skateboard design project.

If you finish your collage start working on your skateboard design project.
-Create a reference board in Photoshop.
     *Create a Photoshop document
          -Width:  17 inches
          -Height:  11 inches
          -Resolution:  300
     *Drag images onto your new photoshop document that will help you design or create your skateboard design.  These IMAGES ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY, they are not to be used as your for you design.
-Draw 15 thumbnail designs
     *You may draw them in your sketchbook or use the template that I put in google docs, through google plus.  You can find the templates through google plus on your shared documents if you can not access them I will email them to you.

-Two Videos will be posted and I want you all to take notes on the the two videos.  You will have till Thursday to watch the videos and make notes in a notebook or in google docs.  When you take your notes please have the title of the video and create as many notes that will help you with a practical quiz on Thursday.

[Fun With Brushes]
Assignment:
1.  Create a new photoshop Document
                   Width:  8.5
                   Height:  11
                   Resolution:  300
2.  Using only the brush palette create an interesting composition
3.  You may also drag photos from the internet to be used in the composition
4.  Go into the brush palette and see what kind of brushes you can find, also make adjustments to your brushes what you can do.
5.  Also play with the layer modes and layer opacity to see what kind of effects you can achieve
6.  Lastly use the brush Opacity and Flow to add to your piece.  When you click on your brush "B", those options will be at the top of the screen in your brush settings.

When you first open Photoshop on the right hand side of the screen should be a vertical tool bar.  This tool bar has the majority of tools you will be using in order to fix, manipulate, and create art with.  Each tool on the toolbar has a short-cut key that can be used with the key board.

In this introductory course in raster-based digital image manipulation, students become acquainted with the concepts, hardware, and software, related to digital image acquisition, image editing, manipulation, color management basics, masking, layering, retouching, scanning and output.
